Aarrrghh.. my legs are killing me! I went out to a latin dance club (Cactus, St. Denis and Mont-Royal) last night for an hour. Got in free just before ten. I think it must be almost a year and a half since the last time I did any dancing, and today I am paying the price for it. Most of the time I was dancing meringue (Is that how it's spelt? It always makes me think of whipped egg white.) and now most of the pain is in my butt.

After the dancing, I joined some baha'i youth at Just Noodles who had just finished a discussion group about community development. We continued the discussion at my place, and amongst these friends are some blokes that studied literature, political science, philosophy and the like. They got into some fairly lively debates, and I finally appreciated the universal applicability of the word GEEK. The energy in the room reminded me of the type of banter that occurs between some space-geeks figuring out the better approach to establishing a mars colony, or cheap access to space. Sometimes the two domains intertwine when the fundamental basis for political, social or technological progress is a collective desire for advancement, especially when the results are unknown, but assuredly different from the present status.

Some of the more entertaining parts of the evening however, were centred around Ali G.

For Real! Innit? Boyakasha!

I am lazy. Or perhaps pragmatic. I could have implemented some PHP, MySQL based blog system on engsoc, or deadsquid, but instead, I will stand on the shoulders of people who have already done the work. Why reinvent the wheel?
